This pieces was made by free motion quilting on the front of the fabric and then using the back...
Each "flower" center is made of a metal washer wrapped with yarns and threads...the piece became very heavy very quickly...I will use plastic washers next time!!!
I free motioned the "petals" first and then hand-stitched the covered washers on...
I also cut into the quilt to create slits. In these slites I placed plastic tubing covered with jeans and random threads from my sewing studio floor.....
The shape of it, is the shape of it...It comes out as it comes out....
